At SunGift Solar, we’re passionate about paving the way for a sustainable future, and recently, we had the privilege of participating in a Solar Careers Fair geared towards enlightening local students about the various career opportunities within the solar energy sector. Held at Exeter College on Tuesday 19th March, the event drew in a diverse crowd of college and secondary school students eager to explore the renewable energy industry.

Solar Careers Event

As a company that is proud to be a champion of sustainability, throughout the fair, we took an active role in engaging with students, by discussing the career paths available in solar energy. Through interactive presentations, informative stands, and insightful discussions, students gained valuable insights into the dynamic solar industry.

Bringing the concept of ‘what we do’ to life, SunGift supplied six solar PV panels, prominently displayed at the entrance to the event. This display provided a demonstration of the potential and functionality of solar energy whilst providing facts and figures on solar energy. Allowing students to see solar PV technology up close to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of renewable energy enthusiasts.

Reflecting on the event, Gabriel Wondrausch, the Founder and Director at SunGift Solar, remarked, “The Solar Careers Fair provided an exceptional platform for us to share our expertise, and highlight the exciting opportunities available within the solar sector. As the solar industry continues to experience rapid growth, there’s an increasing demand for skilled professionals. By educating students about the wealth of opportunities, we’re nurturing the future leaders of solar energy.”

According to Solar Energy UK analysis, it is anticipated that the solar industry will contribute to approximately 60,000 jobs in the UK by 2035, a significant increase from the approximately 7,000 jobs recorded in 2020.

We have a variety of roles at SunGift: Electrician, Roofer, Project Manager, Design Engineer, Sales & Marketing, Customer Support, Procurement & HSQE. Throughout the event, we emphasised the numerous benefits associated with pursuing a career in solar energy, including:

Environmental Impact: Solar professionals have the unique opportunity to make a difference in combating climate change and promoting sustainability by harnessing the power of renewable energy.

Innovation and Advancement: The solar industry is characterised by continuous innovation and technological advancements.
