Solar Design Engineer/Surveyor
Job Title: Solar Design Engineer/Surveyor (full time)
Department: Domestic Design
Responsible to: Head of Residential Solar & Storage
What You’d Be Doing:
- Preparing customer proposals for domestic solar & battery installations
- Using 3D modelling software to design PV systems
- Designing and pricing initial quotes for customers
- Advising customers on which solar & Storage solutions may be best for their home.
- Liaising with SunGift’s customers, including dealing with queries and making follow up calls after quotations have been sent out.
- Booking in survey appointments and managing survey calendar
- Surveying property to compose an installation plan.
- Responding to incoming enquiries via phone and email
- Working with other departments to facilitate the smooth running of projects
- Working with and assisting the project management team to ensure smooth running of domestic installations
- Working with the team to meet individual and joint sales & delivery targets.

Solar Design Engineer (with AutoCAD experience)
Department: Design
What will your day look like?
Your work will be varied and dynamic- with no day being the same as the last. However, your daily tasks may include:
- Preparing technical drawings
- Preparing and checking of layouts and designs for our installations
- Technical review of designs and specifying of parts
- Recording of parts specified and installed
- Feeding into technical improvements relating to design, installation and maintenance

Roofers
Job Title: PV installer/Roofer (full time)
Department: Installation
Working hours: Usual hours of 40 per week, between 7am and 5.30pm Mondays to Fridays but with flexibility required to fit in with site and installation requirements, plus occasional working away for more distant sites.
Responsible to: Business Unit Manager
The role: We are looking for someone to install domestic and commercial PV systems on various building and roof types.
Experience working on a variety of roof types, including slate, is desirable. Experience installing solar PV is also desirable but not essential as full training in installation will be provided.
Certified training in working at heights and asbestos awareness is desirable as is a current CSCS card. Other desirable qualifications include forklift licence, IPAF, PASMA and training in use of harnesses at height.
Full clean driving licence. For the right candidate there may be the potential to grow and develop your role within SunGift and take on greater responsibility.

Key responsibilities:
- Working with the team to install solar PV systems to the highest standard, on time and to budget. Your focus will be primarily on roof work but you’ll also assist with other works on site. Typical duties will include:
- Installing mounting brackets, rails and panels on pitched and flat roofs
- Running cables, trunking, conduit and cable trays
- Assisting with other aspects of installation, including battery installation
- Following health and safety guidelines and installation regulations to make sure work is carried out safely and is compliant.
- Providing excellent service in your interactions with our customers on site, being sensitive to the fact that you will work at customers’ homes.
- Working unsupervised where required.

Electrician
Job Title: Approved Electrician/ Electrician
Responsible to: Operations Director
Purpose of the role: As a SunGift electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out installation work to the highest standards and working to ensure our installation work is as efficient and productive as possible.

Required skills
- At least 5 years’ experience as a qualified electrician
- Approved electrician status desirable
- Ability to mentor an apprentice/mate
- Experience installing solar PV, car chargers and battery storage highly desirable
- Trained to 18th edition
- Level 3 award in the installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems desirable
- SMSTS training (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme) desirable
- Working at heights and asbestos awareness training desirable
- ECS card
- Full clean driving licence
