Procurement and Warehouse Manager

Job Title: Procurement and Warehouse Manager                

Purpose of the role: In this role you will oversee our warehouse team, ensuring stock is well managed and jobs are prepared. Working collaboratively with our project managers, designers, and installation teams, you’ll be looking to ensure high levels of health, safety, quality and improve efficiency of operations, especially with innovative products and projects.

This position reports to the Operations Director and has overall responsibility for the function and security of the warehouse, including management responsibility of the Warehouse team, so experience of this would be beneficial.

 

Working hours: 40 hours per week, starting at 8am and finishing at 5pm to ensure warehouse availability, Mondays to Fridays, but with flexibility required to fit in with site and installation requirements.

Who we’d love to hire:

We’re looking for a candidate with significant experience in a similar role, who is able to demonstrate a good track record in delivering improvements and efficiencies. We’re looking for someone who is helpful, polite, and honest at all times. It’s important that you have excellent organisational and communication skills. You must have experience driving a forklift and would ideally hold a forklift licence.

You will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to learn quickly. Attention to detail is vital within SunGift and is often what sets us apart from the competition, as well as good people skills. We’re looking for someone with initiative, strong self-motivation, and a keen interest in renewable energy.  Good IT skills are essential, ideally with experience of MS Office and CRM systems.  At SunGift, we are friendly and approachable. Senior Solar Panel Installer / Roofer

Job Title:  Senior Solar Panel Installer / Roofer (full time)

Department:  Installation

Working hours: Usual hours of 40 per week, between 7am and 5.30pm Mondays to Fridays but with flexibility required to fit in with site and installation requirements, plus occasional working away for more distant sites.

The role: We are looking for someone to install domestic and commercial PV systems on various building and roof types.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced installer/roofer with excellent roofing skills and, ideally, a Level 2 Diploma/NVQ Roof Slating and Tiling. Working outside, being part of a team, you’ll thrive on solving problems and the satisfaction of doing things well. We’re looking for someone with at least 3 years roofing experience who is able to supervise jobs and teams well so that work is completed on time to excellent quality and safety standards. You’ll be comfortable providing on the job training, where necessary, and showing the initiative to improve ways of working to benefit all. Certified training in working at heights and asbestos awareness is desirable, as is a current CSCS card. Other desirable qualifications include a forklift licence, IPAF, PASMA and training in use of harnesses at height.

You’ll need a full UK driving licence, be able to follow procedures, plan your work effectively and to work safely with and without supervision. With solar PV systems on roofs or sites, you’ll be installing mounting brackets, rails and panels on pitched and flat roofs, running cables, trunking, conduit and cable trays. You’ll also assist with other aspects of installation and teams, including battery installation. You need to be polite, trustworthy and be a good people-person, so that you provide excellent customer service on site.

Key Responsibilities

Required skills

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a qualified electrician
  • Approved electrician status desirable
  • Ability to mentor an apprentice/mate
  • Experience installing solar PV, car chargers and battery storage highly desirable
  • Trained to 18th edition
  • Level 3 award in the installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems desirable
  • SMSTS/ SSSTS training (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme/ Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) desirable
  • Working at heights and asbestos awareness training desirable
  • ECS card
  • Full clean driving licence

Solar PV Installer / Roofer

The role: We are looking for someone to install domestic and commercial PV systems on various building and roof types.

Experience working on a variety of roof types, including slate, is desirable. Experience installing solar PV is also desirable but not essential as full training in installation will be provided.

Certified training in working at heights and asbestos awareness is desirable as is a current CSCS card. Other desirable qualifications include forklift licence, IPAF, PASMA and training in use of harnesses at height.

A full driving licence is required. For the right candidate there may be the potential to grow and develop your role within SunGift and take on greater responsibility.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working with the team to install solar PV systems to the highest standard, on time and to budget. Your focus will be primarily on roof work but you’ll also assist with other works on site. Typical duties will include:
    1. Installing mounting brackets, rails and panels on pitched and flat roofs
    2. Running cables, trunking, conduit and cable trays
    3. Assisting with other aspects of installation, including battery installation
  • Following health and safety guidelines and installation regulations to make sure work is carried out safely and is compliant
  • Providing excellent service in your interactions with our customers on site, being sensitive to the fact that you will work at customers’ homes
  • Working unsupervised where required

What You’d Be Doing:

  • Preparing customer proposals for domestic solar & battery installations
  • Using 3D modelling software to design PV systems
  • Designing and pricing initial quotes for customers
  • Advising customers on which solar & storage solutions may be best for their home
  • Liaising with SunGift’s customers, including dealing with queries and making follow up calls after quotations have been sent out
  • Booking in survey appointments and managing survey calendar
  • Surveying property to compose an installation plan
  • Responding to incoming enquiries via phone and email
  • Working with other departments to facilitate the smooth running of projects
  • Working with and assisting the project management team to ensure smooth running of domestic installations
  • Working with the team to meet individual and joint sales & delivery targets

 

Who We’d Love to Hire

We’re looking for someone with two skill sets; technical design and sales. Perhaps you have a background in customer service or sales, selling solar or similar technical products. Or, maybe you have experience in design and engineering, able to carry out surveys and use our design software quickly. We appreciate that you’re likely to be stronger in one than the other and we will support you to strengthen your skills and adapt to this varied role.

It’s important that you have excellent organisational skills to manage projects, customers and resources. You’ll be excellent at customer service and will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to learn quickly, as we’re flooded with in-bound enquiries.  Attention to detail is vital within SunGift and is often what sets us apart from the competition, as well as good people skills. We’re looking for someone with initiative, strong self-motivation, politeness and honesty to join our growing team.

It is also essential that you have a full driving licence, as travel to site will be required.
