This month we achieved another industry first by having the latest solar awning installed at our Exeter HQ. It’s an amazing system that enables you to have either a modern new car port, house awning or additional storage space (erected in just one day) combined with a full solar PV system.
Here at SunGift we’ve used the contemporary structure as a carport, so when we upgrade our fleet in the future to electric vehicles, we’ll be able to keep them sheltered (the structure is 100% waterproof) and power them directly from energy we’re generating from the sun.
In other countries the Shadow Solar has already been used on the side of houses as a sundeck, as roofs for swimming pools, and as open conservatories, while companies have used them for a variety of applications.
“It’s such a flexible solution,” said SunGift managing director Gabriel Wondrausch, “and it even includes rainwater harvesting down the supportive feet, which can be connected to existing water tanks.”
The two available versions of the Shadow are the Solar Garden (free-standing/four mounting feet) and the Solar Home (attached to a building/two mounting feet).
