The bigger jobs have been rolling in for us this month at SunGift, as our commercial team has been working hard on winning contract with highly-regarded installations.

So we’re delighted to announce that we’ve completed work on a 250 kW solar PV system for Numatic International – manufacturer of the world-renowned Henry vacuum cleaner.  The 1,000 panels that our experts installed across three roofs at its HQ in Chard, Somerset, will generate an estimated 235,000 kW hours each year (the equivalent annual electricity usage of 71 homes) and boost its environmental credentials.

The £250,000 system took us just under a month to complete and will help power thirty-four computer-controlled injection-moulding machines. The installation is expected to generate energy bill savings and Feed-in Tariff payments totalling more than £50,000 per year, which means it will have paid for itself in less than five years.  Feed-in Tariff payments run for 20 years, so Numatic will receive a further 15 years of index-linked income from the scheme.

“This is an exciting development for us,” said Numatic property manager Andrew Smith, “and an important step towards meeting our carbon reduction targets.  We chose SunGift on the strength of the very impressive, identically-sized system they had installed in 2012 at the Met Office premises in Exeter and we are delighted with the work they have carried out for us.  SunGift completed the system exactly on time and to an excellent standard and their team were all helpful, friendly and professional.”
