Supporting the Exmouth RNLI

To coincide with the launch of Exmouth RNLI’s new Shannon-class lifeboat at the start of May, we pledged to donate £50 to the charity for every system ordered from us during the month of May.

And, after sending solar specialist Ollie down to meet the RNLI guys, we decided to boost the organisation’s funds even more by extending the offer throughout June too.

“As a local company, we were full of admiration for those who helped raise £150,000 towards the new lifeboat, and we want to do our bit to help too,” said Ellen Rodger, director at SunGift Solar. “The RNLI team in Exmouth does marvelous work – saving lives at sea – and we’re fortunate that we have such a dedicated team of volunteers in this area to respond to emergencies.”

In addition to helping purchase new lifeboats, RNLI funds go towards paying for the specialist training that empowers crew members to make fast decisions in extreme conditions.

Steve Hockings-Thompson, Coxswain at Exmouth RNLI, said: “Our fundraising efforts improve our lifesaving facilities, provide high-quality kit that our crews can count on, and deliver constant training for them. SunGift is a great example of a local business that is helping to make this possible.”
