With more than 300 solar PV installs under his belt, SunGift Team Leader Paul is an expert electrician that has a passion for solar PV. With full responsibility for every job his team carries out, Paul supervises the whole process of a solar installation – from overseeing work on the mains electricity and checking the inverters to managing the cabling and carrying out final checks on the quality and finish of the roofing and electrical works.
“I love my job,” said Paul, “and get tremendous satisfaction from doing work that is worthwhile, rewarding, and helps the planet too. I guess that’s why I love my work so much.”
After leaving school in Southampton Paul immediately studied to become an electrician. Now, after moving to Devon several years ago, he has 12 years experience as a high-level electrician, has qualifications including a 17th edition City and Guild Level 3 National Diploma in Electrical Installations, and enjoys fully qualified solar PV installer status. Paul has also undergone extensive training with world-leading solar manufacturers such as Solar Edge, BenQ and JA Solar.
When he’s not installing PV systems, Paul is a huge sports fan who plays cricket and football for his village team Thorverton. He also loves playing a round of golf with friends.
