We’ve been shouting about the benefits of renewable heat for many years, and finally incentives are to be put in place that will make switching to technologies like solar thermal, heat pumps and biomass financially attractive.

The government have set the tariff levels at:

  • Solar thermal: 19.2p/kWh (minimum)
  • Biomass boilers: 12.2p/kWh
  • Ground source heat pumps: 18.8p/kWh
  • Air source heat pumps: 7.3p/kWh

We’ll be crunching the figures, working out return on investment figures, and sending out a detailed update on the domestic RHI plans, so keep your eyes peeled for a Sungift update in your inbox.

What’s more, SunGift has many more customers who will be eligible to receive payments (because they’ve had heating systems installed by us since July 2009) so we will be emailing them soon with MCS certificates and instructions on what to do next.

Renewable Heat Premium Payments (RHPP) are still available until the RHI scheme launches, so now is an excellent time to opt for a renewable heat solution in the knowledge that it will not only lower both your fuel bills and your carbon footprint, but also generate a significant return that will pay off your initial investment in just a number of years.

If you’re interested in a renewable heat solution, why not contact one of our experts 01392 213912, designteam@sungiftsolar.co.uk, visit our renewable heat page, or take a look at the case study of one of our customers – Wilfred Reynolds – who has had both a heat pump and solar thermal  installed at his property.
