SunGift managing director Ellen Rodger has been appointed to the Institute of Directors (IoD) Devon and Cornwall committee.

Ellen, who was named the IoD South West Young Director of the Year in 2013, has helped SunGift grow from a small team to the 35-strong industry leader it is now.

Ellen said: “This is a tremendously exciting prospect for me. Both Devon and Cornwall are hotbeds for innovation, and I believe it’s important for us to nurture the young talent we have here.

“The more we can help young entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas, the more chance we have to create profitable businesses of the future in this part of the country.

“As a new member of the committee I hope I can help add a fresh perspective on this. It is a great opportunity for me to learn from directors in more established industries, while passing on what I’ve learnt from working with a young and dynamic team.”

Carleen Kelemen, chairman of IoD Devon and Cornwall, said “We are delighted to welcome Ellen to our Committee. Ellen is an exceptional individual and successful entrepreneur. Her experience and fresh perspective will be invaluable in shaping our future local IoD activity.”
