Grants & Tariffs | Feed-in Tariff | Renewable Heat Incentive
Currently, there are renewable energy grants of up to £2,500 per household available from the Low Carbon Buildings Programme Phase I funding for domestic customers installing renewable energy systems.
Grants for electricity technologies, such as solar photovoltaics are unfortunately no longer available. Grants for heat generating technologies, like solar thermal hot water systems, ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps, and biomass will be ending in late 2010. This funding will be allocated on a first come first served basis as long as funds last.
The amount that you are entitled to depends on the type of technology being installed:
- Solar Thermal: £400
- Air-source Heat Pump: £900
- Ground-source Heat Pump: £1,200
Public and Charitable sector organisations are eligible for Low Carbon Buildings Programme Phase II funding of up to 50% of the total installation costs. These grants are for projects of up to £1 million and are granted on a first come first served basis.
Currently Renewable Energy For Devon (RE4D) can support small and medium sized enterprises in South Hams, West Devon, Torridge, North Devon, Mid Devon, Teignbridge, Exeter and East Devon.
The following grants are available:
- Solar Thermal: Up to 15% of the total cost of the installation
- Wind, Heat Pumps, Solar PV: Up to 20% of the total cost of the installation
- Biomass installations: Up to 25% of the total cost of the installation

There is a maximum of £30,000 available per installation. You may be eligible for grant funding from other sources.
