Grants & Tariffs

Grants | Feed-in Tariff | Renewable Heat Incentive

The UK government is currently doing a lot to try and support people who are interested in generating their own clean energy and recent changes to government policy mean that there has never been a better time to install your own renewable energy system.

Unfortunately there are no longer renewable energy grants available from the Low Carbon Buildings Programme. These have been replaced by the Clean Energy Cashback Scheme. This consists of the Feed-in Tariff (introduced on 1st April 2010) and the Renewable Heat Incentive (to be introduced in October 2012).

As we are accredited with the Government’s Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) SunGift Solar customers are eligible for both the current and proposed financial incentives for renewable power.

Details of the Feed-in Tariff were confirmed on 1st February 2010. Please see our Feed-in Tariff page for details. At this stage It has been confirmed that the Renewable Heat Incentive will be introduced in two phases. Phase one is the Premium Payments scheme, introduced on 1st August 2011 which is a one off grant payment, available on a first come first served basis. The second phase of the scheme is to be a Generation tariff, to be introduced in 2012. Full details of the generation tariff yet to be announced. We will be keeping a very close eye on these developments, attending the consultation meetings and keeping up-to-date with all the latest announcements.
