Grants & Tariffs
Grants | Feed-in Tariff | Renewable Heat Incentive
The UK government is currently doing a lot to try and support people
who are interested in generating their own clean energy and recent
changes to government policy mean that there has never been a better
time to install your own renewable energy system.
Currently, there are renewable energy grants available from the Low Carbon Buildings Programme for people installing selected renewable energy systems. Unfortunately the grants for Solar PV systems are no longer available. However you can still claim grants for solar thermal, heat pumps and biomass although these too are set to end in late 2010. These are being replaced by the Clean Energy Cashback Scheme. This consists of the Feed-in Tariff (to be introduced in April 2010) and Renewable Heat Incentive (to be introduced in April 2011).
As we are accredited with the Government’s Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) SunGift Solar customers are eligible for both the current and proposed financial incentives for renewable power.
Details of the Feed-in Tariff were confirmed on 1st February 2010. Please see our Feed-in Tariff page for details. At this stage the renewable heat incentive is still only a proposal. We have been keeping a very close eye on these developments, attending the consultation meetings and keeping up-to-date with all the latest announcements.
